Step by step: create a sorted wardrobe
Most wardrobes don't need more clothes – they need an edit. This is the step-by-step method I used to edit a friend's wardrobe, and you can do it yourself in an afternoon.
Step 1: Know your filter first. Before you touch a single hanger, define your Fashion Words, your Style Icons and Your Place. Without a filter, editing becomes guesswork.
Step 2: Take out the wrong season. Store out-of-season pieces somewhere else. When your wardrobe only holds what you can wear right now, you see everything clearly – and get dressed faster.
Step 3: Edit with the right questions. Go through every piece and ask: Does it fit my Fashion Words? Would I wear it in My Place? Does it work for my real life?
Step 4: Remove duplicates. Five almost identical black tops don't give you five outfits. Keep the best version and let the rest go.
Step 5: Put it back – beautifully. Use matching hangers and sort by category and colour. It makes finding an outfit so much easier, and a calm, ordered wardrobe is a pleasure to open every morning.
The result: a wardrobe that looks like a curated shop – and works like one.
